Slideshow: Shi-Lai Temple / Los Angeles Skyline Juxtaposed

Posted on 21. Jun, 2009 by Ben in Slideshows

Here is the latest slideshow of the week. Look forward to seeing more PhotoPeach slideshows in the near future as I am only beginning to discover the service and imagining some of the potential uses for slideshows.

Photos are mine, thanks go to The Grouch for the soundtrack.

Went for a hike up turnbull canyon and got this snap right before sunset. The view from here shows the sprawl of Los Angeles behind the temple.

Jobs: Marketing, PR, Sustainable Development, Teaching, and More

Posted on 08. Jun, 2009 by Ben in Marketing

When I first graduated I had no idea the scale of competition going on for the few jobs that are available here on the west coast. In short, my job search has moved out of California and on to Hawaii, New York, and Japan to widen the net.

As I find openings across the globe I think about the career that will define the majority of my life. This is quite an important concept and one I do not take lightly. My motivation to write this post is only to share a glimpse of what goes on in the mind of a motivated graduate in this economy. Marketing could be a very satisfying career, and indeed I continue to work developing my abilities to do business online. I think this all comes with a grain of salt as I gain new, better perspective and insights every day as the search continues…

Where in the world will I end up? What will I do to contribute to the lives of others around me?

Ultimately a life of service to others is the only life worth living, for me. It is only a matter of how.
